October 2014 Deacon's Monthly Note

Sep 30, 2014

OCTOBER 2014

The Diocesan Deacons just completed one of their annual retreats at beautiful and peaceful Picture Rocks Retreat House in Tucson. The presenter was Bishop Nevares, Archbishop of the Diocese of Phoenix, Arizona.  The next retreat will be held at San Luis Rey, Mission Bay, California and their presenter will be Father John Arnold.

The deacons meet monthly with Father Abran our Pastor and Father Andre Weller our “quasi” associate Pastor to discuss and plan: personnel clergy issues; upcoming liturgical events; concerns of parishioners; clergy procedures and assignments.

The last four months have been energetic and fulfilling preparing for the RCIA process starting in October 5.  We have 31 candidates who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and Holy Communion at the Easter Vigil.  We are also happy to announce that there 3 Catechumens  who will be Baptized at the Easter Vigil.  This cannot be possible without your prayers and welcoming of the Catechumens and Candidates to our and their parish here at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.

We also need to thank and praise God for the following couples who have so generously given of their time and efforts to assist in being “teachers” and “teachers’ aides” for the RCIA process this year:

Mr. and Mrs. Salvador and Czerina Roman

Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Betty Islas

          Mrs. Maria Castro

          Mrs. Luz Maria Lopez

          Mrs. Wilma Valdenegro
